Mercedes-Benz Showroom:
Mercedes-Benz Gelecek Otomotiv:
A Perfect Showroom in 6 Hours
Constant visitor traffic, a busy main road, drone restrictions and a race against the clock. In a showroom of exceptional design, we had to work fast and sharp.
Mercedes-Benz Gelecek Otomotiv showroomu, tasarım kalitesiyle ilk adımda kendini belli eden mekânlardan biriydi. Mimari çizgiler, malzeme seçimleri, ışık kurgusu; her şey marka kimliğiyle özenle hizalanmış.
The Mercedes-Benz Gelecek Otomotiv showroom announced its design quality from the very first step inside. The architectural lines, material choices, lighting concept; everything was aligned with precision to the brand identity. Photographing spaces like this is both a privilege and a responsibility. We are not just documenting a showroom; we are representing the local face of a global brand.
But this shoot also taught us something else: exceptional design does not equal exceptional conditions.
Working in Parallel with Visitors
The most common misconception about showroom photography is the assumption that the space will be closed for the shoot. In reality, most major brand dealerships cannot do this: customer flow cannot be halted, the sales process cannot be paused. We applied the same discipline here as we had at Medicana Airport Medical Center: move with the space, not against it.
Throughout the shoot, there was continuous visitor traffic. While we worked, people were examining vehicles, sales consultants were running meetings, cars were moving through the service entrance. The solution was to set up fast, shoot fast, and always be ready to move to the next scene.
For each interior frame we waited for the right moment; we watched a group of visitors pass, then stepped in. In some frames we captured multiple angles within seconds. In post-production, any remaining figures were digitally removed. The showroom in the final images reads as calm and unoccupied, a space that speaks only of its product and architecture, even though it never was.
Exterior: Strategic Difficulty
Resolving the interior was relatively defined. The exterior was an entirely different equation.
The showroom sits on a main road. Its frontage opens directly onto active traffic, and the surrounding urban density is high. This created two problems: passing vehicles and restricted airspace for drone operations.
For ground-level exterior shooting we turned to long exposure technique. Using ND filters and a tripod we extended shutter speeds until passing vehicles became either invisible or a soft light trail on the road surface; neither of which compete with the architecture. It is the cleanest way to freeze the building's facade while erasing the chaos of the street.
Drone: Strategic Planning and Airspace
The showroom's location was not straightforward for drone work. Roadside structures, surrounding urban density and local airspace restrictions; all of these together meant that drone operations required especially careful planning.
Before the shoot we reviewed the airspace map for the area and tightened the flight window and angles as much as possible. The drone was used only at permitted altitudes and for limited durations. The aerial perspective of the exterior facade was the most valuable single image we could capture under these conditions; it shows the building as a whole and its relationship to the street in a single frame that simply cannot be achieved from the ground.
There is no such thing as a risk-free drone shoot. But a well-planned shoot turns that risk into a controlled and acceptable operation.
Post-Production: Removing the Invisible
In a six-hour shoot, there will inevitably be moments where not every challenge can be neutralised on set. A figure may enter the scene, a vehicle may remain in frame, a reflection may reveal something unwanted. Eliminating these in the moment is not always possible; but they can be resolved in post-production.
The final stage of the showroom project involved a thorough digital clean-up. Remaining visitor figures in the interior, vehicles that could not be frozen in exterior long exposures, reflection interference; all were addressed individually. The aim was not to misrepresent the space but to present it at its best.
The line here is clear: digital intervention cannot alter the architecture or the product. It can only remove temporary elements that prevent the space from telling its own story. Working without losing sight of that distinction is the foundation of truly professional post-production.
Why Six Hours Was Enough
The answer comes down to a single word: preparation. Before the shoot day, the location was analysed, the progression of the lighting throughout the day was calculated, and the sequence of interior and exterior shooting was planned. Drone permissions were researched in advance. The post-production workflow was established before the first frame was taken.
On the shoot day itself, every minute was spent executing decisions rather than making them. Six hours is more than enough for a prepared team; never enough for an unprepared one.
The design and achievement of the Mercedes-Benz Gelecek Otomotiv showroom deserved to be told through imagery of equal standing. We believe we delivered exactly that.
